1.17 understand the use of the term mole to represent the amount of substance

A mole is just the name given to a certain number.

Much like 'a million' is 1,000,000; a mole is 6.023x10²³

One mole of any atom or molecule of any substance will have a mass (in grams) that is equal to the Ar (or Mr) or that substance.
